Henderson

Henderson—although quieter and more reserved than Las Vegas, its neon neighbor to the north—offers visitors an experience they won’t soon forget. The city, situated in Green Valley, south of Las Vegas, got its start during World War II, producing magnesium to supply ammunition and airplane parts for U.S. forces. Today, Henderson is Nevada’s second largest city.

With close proximity to the Las Vegas Strip, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, Henderson offers a variety of entertainment, recreation, shopping and dining. And, as a result of the abundance of warm weather and sunshine, you can golf any of the eight championship golf courses year-round, such as Reflection Bay or attend special events, including Shakespeare in the Park and ArtFest of Henderson. For a unique, urban outdoor shopping experience, try the District at Green Valley Ranch Resort, and for the ultimate in relaxation, head out to Lake Las Vegas and enjoy a deep tissue massage at either The Ritz Carlton, Lake Las Vegas or Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort.

At Ethel M Chocolates and Botanical Cactus Garden you can tour the factory, taste the treats and meander through one of the world’s largest collection of cacti. Also, be sure to visit the Henderson Veteran’s Memorial Wall, the City of Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, the Clark County Heritage Museum and Henderson’s Downtown Art District, where you can peruse galleries and admire city murals.
